{"id":1263,"date":"2021-05-20T15:42:36","date_gmt":"2021-05-20T15:42:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/help.insperity.com\/bps\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=1263"},"modified":"2021-06-04T18:56:11","modified_gmt":"2021-06-04T18:56:11","slug":"configuring-profile-headers-and-bodies","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/help.insperity.com\/bps\/knowledge-base\/configuring-profile-headers-and-bodies\/","title":{"rendered":"Configuring profile headers and bodies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>You can control the content and appearance of a&nbsp;profile&nbsp;header or body using the&nbsp;Profile&nbsp;Editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the&nbsp;Profile&nbsp;Editor, you can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Add, delete and reposition fields<\/li><li>Format field labels and cells<\/li><li>Add conditions to&nbsp;profile&nbsp;fields<\/li><li>Add symbols and text boxes<\/li><li>Preview changes<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To open a&nbsp;profile&nbsp;header or body for editing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In the&nbsp;Profiles tab, click the&nbsp;<strong>Edit<\/strong>&nbsp;button for the&nbsp;profile&nbsp;header or body you want to edit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To close the&nbsp;Profile&nbsp;Editor:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Click the&nbsp;<strong>Back<\/strong>&nbsp;button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding, Deleting, and Repositioning Fields<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To add a field to a&nbsp;profile&nbsp;header or body:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Click the&nbsp;<strong>Add<\/strong>&nbsp;button and choose the correct field from the menu. &nbsp;Fields are added to the bottom of the list but can be repositioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Repeat until all needed fields are added to the&nbsp;profile&nbsp;header or body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To remove a field from a&nbsp;profile&nbsp;header or body:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Click the&nbsp;<strong>delete<\/strong>&nbsp;button on the field you want to remove. The field is removed from the&nbsp;profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To position a field in a&nbsp;profile&nbsp;header or body:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Click and hold the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Drag it into the new position. The position for the field is indicated by a background change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Release the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Formatting Field Labels and Cells<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can change the format in field cells for the following properties:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Field Label<\/li><li>Field Style<\/li><li>Text alignment and word wrapping<\/li><li>Number formatting<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Field Labels<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can choose whether you want to hide or show field labels in the&nbsp;profile, and edit the field label text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To show or hide a field label:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Check the&nbsp;<strong>Show<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Label<\/strong>&nbsp;checkbox to toggle the label on and off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To edit field label text:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In the Field Label text box, enter the new label text for the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Styles<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Selecting a field style allows you to highlight or emphasize a field in a&nbsp;profile. You can set a default style and change the style based on one or more conditions. See&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/help.insperity.com\/bps\/knowledge-base\/conditional-field-styles-in-orgplus\/\" data-type=\"ht_kb\" data-id=\"1270\" target=\"_blank\">Conditional Field Styles<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To set a default style for a cell:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Click the Field you want to set a style for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Use the Default Style drop-down menu to select a style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Text Formatting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To set the text formatting for a cell:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Click the field for which you want to set the text format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In the&nbsp;<strong>Formatting<\/strong>&nbsp;section, click the&nbsp;<strong>Bold<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Italicized<\/strong>, or&nbsp;<strong>Underlined<\/strong>&nbsp;buttons as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In the&nbsp;<strong>Formatting<\/strong>&nbsp;section of the Field Properties panel, click the&nbsp;<strong>Left,<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Center<\/strong>, or&nbsp;<strong>Right<\/strong>&nbsp;alignment button&nbsp;as needed. <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/service.insperity.com\/bps\/help\/orgplus\/OPRTAH\/field_alignment.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;To enable word wrapping for the cell, click the&nbsp;<strong>Word Wrap<\/strong>&nbsp;button.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/service.insperity.com\/bps\/help\/orgplus\/OPRTAH\/field_wordwrap.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Repeat these steps if necessary in the&nbsp;<strong>Label Formatting<\/strong>&nbsp;section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Number Formatting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If a cell contains a number-type field, you can set the number formatting for that cell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To set the number formatting for a cell:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Click the cell you want to set the number formatting for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In the Format section of the&nbsp;Profile&nbsp;Item Properties panel, use the available buttons set the following formatting options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Show Separator<\/strong>&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/service.insperity.com\/bps\/help\/orgplus\/OPRTAH\/Images\/Editor_Icons_-_Show_Separator.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"22\" height=\"21\">: Toggle on\/off the thousand separators (decimals or commas) as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Increase Decimal<\/strong>&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/service.insperity.com\/bps\/help\/orgplus\/OPRTAH\/Images\/Editor_Icons_-_Increase_Decimal.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"22\" height=\"21\">: Increase the decimal places displayed in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Decrease Decimal<\/strong>&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/service.insperity.com\/bps\/help\/orgplus\/OPRTAH\/Images\/Editor_Icons_-_Decrease_Decimal.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"22\" height=\"21\">: Decrease the decimal places displayed in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;If the field is a currency field, you can show \/ hide the currency symbol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;If the field is a percent field, you can show \/hide the percent symbol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding Conditions to Fields<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can add conditions to specific fields in a&nbsp;profile&nbsp;header or body, where a format is applied to fields that meet those conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To add conditions to a field:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Click the field you want to add conditions to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In the Conditions section of the&nbsp;Profile&nbsp;Item Properties panel, click the&nbsp;<strong>Add Condition<\/strong>&nbsp;button&nbsp;to open the&nbsp;Profile&nbsp;Item-  Conditional Editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Use the field style drop-down menu to select the style applied to the field when the defined conditions are true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Define the criteria for the condition as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Define the first rule by selecting from the&nbsp;<strong>Field Name<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Comparison<\/strong>&nbsp;drop-down lists. Then enter the comparison string in the&nbsp;<strong>Contents<\/strong>&nbsp;field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Define any additional rules in the second and subsequent lines by clicking&nbsp;<strong>+<\/strong>. If a filter includes more than one rule, choose any to apply the filter if one or more of the rules are true, and all to apply the filter only if all the rules are true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;To add a rule with multiple conditions, click&nbsp;<strong>\u2026<\/strong>&nbsp;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;When you have added all the rules needed for the condition, click&nbsp;<strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding Symbols to&nbsp;Profiles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Symbols allow you to present a field value (or complex condition) using a graphic instead of text. For instance, in a header that displays an employee\u2019s performance rating, you can display Red, Yellow or Green circles in place of the actual field value: \u201cBelow Expectations,\u201d \u201cMeets Expectations,\u201d and \u201cExceeds Expectations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To add a symbol to the&nbsp;profile:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Click the Symbol button. A Symbol is added at the bottom of the box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In the Symbol Properties panel, set the following properties:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;If needed, type the&nbsp;<strong>Symbol Label<\/strong>&nbsp;in the text box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Check or uncheck&nbsp;<strong>Show Label<\/strong>&nbsp;checkbox&nbsp;to toggle the field\u2019s label on or off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Use the drop-down menu to select the default symbol. &nbsp;If you choose No Symbol, then no symbol is displayed by default and the field value will appear empty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Click the&nbsp;<strong>Add<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Condition<\/strong>&nbsp;button to set the conditions under which different symbols should be displayed. For more information, on conditions, see&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/help.insperity.com\/bps\/knowledge-base\/conditional-field-styles-in-orgplus\/\" data-type=\"ht_kb\" data-id=\"1270\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Conditional Field Styles.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Use the Alignment buttons to choose how you want the symbol aligned (<strong>Left, Middle, Right<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Use the Size buttons to select the size of the symbol (<strong>Small, Medium, Large<\/strong>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You can control the content and appearance of a&nbsp;profile&nbsp;header or body using the&nbsp;Profile&nbsp;Editor.
