Access to these fields is dependent on company set up and individual security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li><strong>Actual Date\/Time<\/strong> \u2013 Date and time the employee punched in or out<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Punch Category <\/strong>\u2013 Type of punch\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>IND <\/strong>\u2013 In For Day\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Used at the start of the work day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>INL <\/strong>\u2013 In From Lunch\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Used when coming back from a lunch break<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>INB <\/strong>\u2013 In From Break\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Used when coming back from a break<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>IDA <\/strong>\u2013 In For Day Again\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Used when coming back from something else (ex. A doctor\u2019s appointment)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>INS <\/strong>\u2013 In From Split\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An automatic punch that appears when worked hours are split at midnight<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>TXO <\/strong>\u2013 Transfer Punch\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Used to allocate worked hours to specific organization level items<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ALO <\/strong>\u2013 Auto Lunch Override\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Used to override an automatic lunch<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>CBI <\/strong>\u2013 Call Back In\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Used when called back in from work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>OUT <\/strong>\u2013 Out\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Used any time work is stopped<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Round Date\/Time <\/strong>\u2013 Rounded date and time of the punch based on company rules<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employees are paid from the dates and times in the round date\/time field<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rounding Source<\/strong> \u2013 Rounding type in effect for the punch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pay Type<\/strong> \u2013 Pay Type associated with the punch record\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cDefault\u201d \u2013 Typically records time to the Pay Type of \u201cRegular\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;Other \u2013 Pay Types can vary greatly between companies. Please contact your System Administrator for additional information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shift \u2013 <\/strong>Shift code associated with the punch record<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Device Number \u2013 <\/strong>Device from which the punch originated<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Comment <\/strong>\u2013 Comment (to be) associated with the punch record<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Org Level Transfer <\/strong>\u2013 Forces employee\u2019s home organization level items when box is checked<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Organization Level drop downs <\/strong>\u2013 Organization level items assigned to the punch record<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Editing a punch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With the appropriate security, any item that displays on the main portion of the Punches page can be edited simply by selecting and overwriting the data within the appropriate field. When finished, click <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional punch information can be edited using the following steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Click the <strong>Edit<\/strong> button to on the punch to be edited.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Punch Detail pop-up window opens.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Adjust the field(s) as needed. At minimum, the <strong>Actual Date\/Time<\/strong> and <strong>Punch Category<\/strong> fields must be completed. For definitions of each field, see the section titled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/help.insperity.com\/bps\/knowledge-base\/tracking-time-using-the-punches-page\/#punch-detail-definitions\">Punch Detail Definitions<\/a>.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click<strong> Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deleting a punch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A punch can be deleted using the following steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>&nbsp;Click the <strong>Delete<\/strong> button to the right of the punch to be removed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>A warning message will appear to confirm the deletion of the punch.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding a punch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To add a single punch, follow the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Click the <strong>Add <\/strong>button, located at the bottom left of the page.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Punch Detail pop-up window opens.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At minimum, the <strong>Actual Date\/Time<\/strong> and <strong>Punch Category<\/strong> fields must be completed. These are created and customized for each install, but will typically have a separate timesheet for punches.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find the date of the punch record, and fill in the applicable fields. For definitions of each field, see the section titled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/help.insperity.com\/bps\/knowledge-base\/tracking-time-using-the-punches-page\/#punch-detail-definitions\">Punch Detail Definitions<\/a>.\u201d\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To add an additional record to the same day, use the <strong>Plus-Add Punch<\/strong> button located on the punches block.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fixing a missing punch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A missing punch appears when an employee punches in but does not punch out, or vice versa. These errors are critical to fix as the Total Hours will be incorrect for an employee with a missing punch. The Time and Attendance system will automatically put in a placeholder punch in red when this occurs, marked with \u201cMissing Punch\u201d in the <strong>Info<\/strong> column.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"678\" height=\"44\" src=\"https:\/\/help.insperity.com\/bps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2021\/01\/image-41.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-211\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.insperity.com\/bps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2021\/01\/image-41.png 678w, https:\/\/help.insperity.com\/bps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2021\/01\/image-41-300x19.png 300w, https:\/\/help.insperity.com\/bps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2021\/01\/image-41-50x3.png 50w, https:\/\/help.insperity.com\/bps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2021\/01\/image-41-60x4.png 60w, https:\/\/help.insperity.com\/bps\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2021\/01\/image-41-100x6.png 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 678px) 100vw, 678px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on security, a user can either send a Missing Punch Request to a supervisor, or fix the missing punch directly on the Punches page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fixing a missing punch using the Missing Punch Request<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>&nbsp;Click on the Missing Punch Request button located to the right of the Missing Punch.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Detail View pop-up window opens.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Adjust the fields as needed. At minimum, the Actual Date\/Time and Punch Type fields must be completed. For definitions of each field, see the section titled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/help.insperity.com\/bps\/knowledge-base\/tracking-time-using-the-punches-page\/#punch-detail-definitions\">Punch Detail Definitions<\/a>.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Submit Request<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fixing a missing punch on the Punches Page<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To correct a missing punch directly, one of three things must occur, depending on the situation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>If the punch either before or after the Missing Punch should not exist, the punch before or after the Missing Punch should be deleted. To do so, follow the steps under the section titled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/help.insperity.com\/bps\/knowledge-base\/tracking-time-using-the-punches-page\/#deleting-a-punch\">Deleting a Punch<\/a>.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the Punch Type on the punch before or after the Missing Punch is incorrect, the punch before or after the Missing Punch should be changed. To do so, adjust the punch\u2019s <strong>Type<\/strong> column, and click <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the employee has truly missed a punch, the Missing Punch must be edited directly to have the correct information.
