Employees who have been granted access to punch via their mobile device can also have restrictions applied to limit their ability to punch outside of a certain location or range and\/or to track their location at the time of the punch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This will restrict an employee\u2019s ability to punch from an IP address that is not on the \u201capproved\u201d list, which is maintained by a system administrator at your facility. This restriction will apply to both mobile and web clock punches, based on the user\u2019s punching permissions under each feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
See the IP address restrictions for Time and Attendance<\/a> article for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is a battery-powered Bluetooth beacon that sends out a signal that the employee\u2019s phone will pick up via Bluetooth. If configured, the mobile punch feature will look for the Insperity Bluetooth signal when an employee is punching and allow it only when a beacon is picked up. The punch button will be greyed out until the signal is picked up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The employee will need to enable location and Bluetooth services on their mobile device in order for the beacon to connect to their device and location and approve punching when within range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n See the Insperity Time and Attendance Bluetooth Beacon<\/a> FAQ for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This will restrict an employee\u2019s ability to punch from the mobile app based on GPS systems and a set fence. The employee\u2019s punch button will be grayed out until they are within the fenced range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The employee will need to enable location services on their phone in order for the GPS services to pick up their location and approve punching when within the fence range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This will not restrict an employee\u2019s ability to punch from any location, but will record the employee\u2019s GPS coordinates at time of the punch and retain that data for reporting purposes for 60 days from the time of the punch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you are interested in enabling any of these features, please contact our Support Team<\/a> to start that process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Employees of clients that utilize punching on the mobile app and are set up to have location data tracked via the app (e.g., Bluetooth beacon restrictions, geofencing, and geolocation services) will be required to complete a consent form for compliance-related purposes, which can be completed on the mobile app. Note:<\/strong> This also affects the quick punch feature, which also requires the consent form if location tracking is turned on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If the employee is not able to complete the consent form via the mobile app pop-up, they can access it via their Insperity Premier account.
