We have a new location. What do I need to do?

In order to add a new work location, contact your payroll specialist. You will need to provide your payroll specialist with the physical location street address, city, state, zip code and tax ID number for the specific jurisdiction.

A work location adds the proper tax jurisdictions to the Tax Maintenance screen based on the zip code and Geocode assigned to that work location. A work location is defined as any permanent place of employment where an employee performs his or her work. Therefore, they could be an:

  1. Office or plant location (physical location)
  2. Home office (if permanent)
  3. Job site (depending on state laws)

Once a work location is added, it is available on a drop-down menu in order to assign to the employee. The Work Location, along with the Resident Location, determines the proper taxes to be withheld on an employee.
